Roncalli Apartments is a 30 unit 3 story residence for persons 62 years and older.

Commissioned by the Catholic Diocese of Portland Maine, and built on property that the Diocese owned behind the historic Governor Hill Mansion, construction of the building was completed in the fall of 2009.

Roncalli is owned by the Catholic Diocese, and managed by the Diocesan Bureau of Housing as a HUD 202 PRAC section 8 subsidized independent living facilities. Tenancy at Roncalli is open to any persons 62 years or older who meets the income guidelines set forth by HUD. Since 1973 the Diocesan Bureau of Housing has been working with HUD to provide the elderly of Maine, no matter their faith, with quality affordable housing. The Diocesan Bureau of Housing has grown to manage more than 400 subsidized  apartments across the State of Maine, with more being built.
